All markets โ†’
Corner kick markets work on the same Over/Under principle as goals, but count corner kicks instead. The most common lines are Over/Under 8.5, 9.5 or 10.5 total corners per match. Some bookmakers also offer first-half corners, team-specific corners, or exact corner bands. Corners are generated by matches where one or both teams create lots of attacking play near the opposition penalty area without scoring โ€” pressing teams, wide-attack systems and dead-ball specialists all tend to generate higher corner counts. Top attacking teams in the Premier League average 6โ€“8 corners per game at home; cautious lower-mid teams may average only 3โ€“4. Corner frequency correlates more with possession style and tactical shape than with goals, which makes corners partially independent of the standard prediction markets. High-possession, wide-playing teams (many of the top PL and Bundesliga sides) consistently land over 10 corners per match. Our match stats pipeline already collects corner data on historical matches. Dedicated corner tips โ€” using team corner averages and style matching โ€” are planned for a future Sportdico update.

Frequently asked questions about Corner Kicks Over/Under

What are corner kick markets in football betting?

Corner kick markets ask you to bet on the total number of corner kicks in a match (or in a half, or for one team). The most common line is Over/Under 9.5 total corners.

How many corners does a typical football match have?

Top European league matches average 9โ€“11 total corners. High-possession, wide-attacking teams generate more; defensive, compact teams generate fewer.

Does the match result affect corner count?

Partially. Matches with a heavy winning margin late often see the losing team pushing forward (generating more corners for both sides). But corner patterns are also driven by tactical style independently of goals.
