Double chance is a Match Result variant that lets you cover two of the three possible outcomes in a single bet. The three combinations are: Home Win or Draw (1X), Away Win or Draw (X2), and Home Win or Away Win (12). Because you're backing two outcomes instead of one, the probability of winning is higher โ€” but bookmakers reduce the odds accordingly. The most popular double chance bet is 12 (either team wins), which eliminates the draw entirely. This is particularly useful in matches between closely ranked sides where a draw feels genuinely likely, but you want exposure to either winner. 1X is frequently used when backing the home side but wanting draw insurance; X2 mirrors this for the away team. Sportdico's prediction pipeline produces win/draw/away probabilities for every covered match. Deriving a double chance tip is straightforward โ€” 1X probability is simply home_prob + draw_prob, and so on. We plan to surface double chance recommendations on match pages alongside 1X2 tips in a future update. In the meantime, the individual probabilities shown on each match page let you calculate every double chance combination yourself.

Frequently asked questions about Double Chance

What is double chance in football betting?

Double chance lets you back two of the three match outcomes at once: 1X (home or draw), X2 (away or draw), or 12 (home or away). The wider coverage means lower odds than a straight 1X2 bet.

When is the 12 (both teams to win) double chance worth backing?

12 is useful when two attacking teams face each other and a draw seems unlikely โ€” for example, high-scoring Europa League ties or matches between top-six sides with poor defensive records.

Is double chance the same as Draw No Bet?

Not exactly. Draw No Bet refunds your stake if the match draws, while X2 double chance still pays out on a draw (because draw is one of your two covered outcomes). They share 'draw insurance' logic but pay out differently.

When will Sportdico add double chance predictions?

We plan to publish double chance tips derived from our existing win/draw/away probability model. The data already exists โ€” the work is surfacing it on match and market pages. Watch the changelog for updates.
